While the first buyers carefully remove the film from the newly unpacked iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, the guys from the YouTube channel TechSmartt decided to test the two new flagships for strength.
The traditional drop-test decided to conduct visually, so last year’s flagship iPhone X took part in the test.
According to Apple, the new iPhones have “the most durable protective glass that the company has ever installed.”
The test was conducted according to the classical scheme: falling from the level of the belt – in a situation where you accidentally drop a smartphone, getting their pocket of jeans; from the height of the head – when someone pushes you and you are talking on the phone at that moment; fall from a height of three meters.
The height is about 1 meter. When falling from the height of the trouser pocket, none of the smartphones got serious damage. The blogger noted that the steel frame of the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max has become significantly stronger than the iPhone X.
The height is about 1.5 – 1.8 meters. If someone calls a smartphone from your hands during a conversation, chances are that you will have to change the display. The iPhone XS only survived the fall.
At the iPhone X, the display immediately became covered with a mesh. The impact of the fall of the iPhone XS Max is less significant, but, nevertheless, the display cracked.
The height is about 3 meters. Perhaps this is the moment for which it was worthwhile to conduct the test.
iPhone X suffered serious damage, because of the impact, the display of the iPhone XS Max covered with a mesh and began to flash hysterically.
The iPhone XS is well worth it. The fall from such an impressive height did not cause any damage. Both glasses of the smartphone remained intact!
Of course, the test performed is highly subjective. It all depends on how the smartphone falls: on the edge, on the back or front edge.
But the conclusion can be made one: Apple did not deceive. Both the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max are much better protected than the iPhone X. Smartphones do have more durable glasses.
