The Committee for Tourism Development announced a competition for the development of the “meta-brand” of St. Petersburg. As follows from the materials of the procurement, published on September 19, Smolny is ready to spend 1.1 million rubles to create a visual identification of the Northern Capital.
According to the terms of reference, the winning company will have to develop a text logo and brand name for the city, as well as a subbrand system. To develop a strategy for positioning the city, the contractor will conduct several strategic sessions with the participation of officials and experts.
Also in the city will be the Agency for the management of the territorial meta-brand of St. Petersburg. From the winner there are proposals on his concept, structure and business plan.
The results of the competition will be summed up on October 10, and the contract is to be fulfilled by December 1, 2018.
Earlier, the Committee for Tourism for 1 ruble purchased the St. Petersburg logo from Art. Lebedev Studio. However, it had to be abandoned because of claims by the OFAS and the Supreme Court that supported the antimonopolists. According to antimonopolshchikov, the contract without holding a contest infringed the interests of other market participants. The new “meta-brand” will cost six zeros more expensive.
