Observatory in New Mexico shut down due to FBI investigation on the distribution of child porn

They suspect not aliens, but a cleaner.

September 17 in SansPot (New Mexico) again opened an observatory, which for unknown reasons was closed by the FBI. Supporters of conspiracy theories linked this with the discovery of aliens, but the agency announced that it was a matter of distributing child pornography.

According to the case file, a few months before the closure of the facility, FBI employees recorded access to sites with child porn from one of the computers of the observatory. In August, agents received a laptop from which they came to sites with child pornography. The security services told the FBI that they saw the device “next to cleaners”, so the cleaner was suspected of the crime.

After the confiscation of the laptop, the suspect began to behave strangely. He complained about the security problems in the observatory, and then said that a serial killer had entered the district, which could get on to the facility. The FBI closed the observatory so that other employees were not harmed.

According to Reuters, after the search the cleaner was never charged.
