Emergency services received more than 600 calls from local residents.
On the night of September 5, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 occurred in the Urals. The epicenter is located one and a half kilometers from the village of Orlovka, seven kilometers from the town of Katav-Ivanovsk and 133 kilometers from Ufa. The Ministry of Emergencies reported that there were no victims or dead.
According to TASS, seismic activity was observed at a depth of 10 kilometers. The destruction of buildings, structures or factories has not yet been fixed. Rescuers have organized a check on the nearest settlements to search for damage in the infrastructure.
The emergency services reported that they received 627 calls for an earthquake from residents of the Chelyabinsk region. Residents of Yekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk published several photos and video of damage, and added that at night people ran out into the street.
