In early 2018, there was information about the appearance in the near future of a smartphone under the Palm brand. Rights to mobile phones under this name, we recall, has Chinese TCL (also managed by its BlackBerry smartphones). Reporters Android Police, who first reported on the revival of the legends of the past, pay attention that the device under the designation PVG100 Palm Venture Group production has been certified.
Certification of the FCC and Wi-Fi Alliance means that the device is close to the final stage of development and may soon be released. The information about the smartphone is very small, only the operating system on which it works is mentioned – Android 8.1 Oreo, as well as the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band. Support for a more efficient 5 GHz is not stated, which indirectly indicates the budget of the Palm smartphone.
This information can disappoint those who expected from the brand of some kind of triumphant return: given the information received, this is unlikely to be a widely claimed product. However, it is possible that TCL has prepared a “chip”, which is still unknown.
