Xiaomi announced Russian prices for the flagship Mi 8 and budget smartphone Redmi 6A

But the Explorer Edition with a transparent back cover to Russia, it seems, will not bring.

In Russia, the smartphone Mi 8 in the version with 6 GB of operating and 64 GB of main memory will cost 29,990 rubles, and with 128 GB of main memory – 32,990 rubles, said regional director of Xiaomi in the CIS Tony Liu at the event in Moscow. His sales will begin on August 8 exclusively in the online store Tmall AliExpress.

Xiaomi introduced Mi 8 as early as May 31, but then told about the prices and dates of the start of sales only for China.

Mi 8 has a glass case with rounded corners, AMOLED FHB display with a diagonal of 6.21 inches and a battery for 3400 mAh. The smartphone screen has a cutout, like the iPhone X , whose ears can be hidden at will, as on the Huawei P20 Pro . In the cutout there is a system of front cameras and an IR sensor for face recognition, capable of unlocking a smartphone in the dark. Updated : the scanner is physically, but not yet programmatically. While his recognition system is still being tested on European faces, and plan to include it in future firmware versions of the MIUI system on which Mi 8 is running.

At the back of the Mi 8 – a system of two cameras (each at 12 megapixel) with a flash and a 4-axis optical image stabilizer. Profile portal DxoMark estimated the quality of shooting photos on the Mi 8 at 105 points: for comparison, the iPhone X and another flagship Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, this figure is 101 points. In addition to the camera, there is a fingerprint scanner on the back cover.

In addition to the Mi 8, the company also released a special version of the Explorer Edition with a transparent back cover. However, the sale of this model in Russia representatives of Xiaomi did not say anything.

Together with the prices for Mi 8, the company also announced Russian prices for the budget smartphone Redmi 6A . It has a metal case, a quad-core processor 2.0 GHz, a rear camera of 13 megapixels, a front camera of 5 megapixels, a 2 GB RAM and a 3000 mAh battery, and a smartphone running MIUI over Android 8.1.

Sales of Redmi 6A in Russia will begin on August 8, and on the first day in the Tmall AliExpress store, the version with 16 GB of memory will cost 5,990 rubles and 6,990. Otherwise, the 16 GB version will cost 7490 rubles, and 32 GB – 8490 rubles.
