In France, protesting farmers blocked the road with bales of hay and interrupted the race “Tour de France”

In France, the organizers of the Tour de France cycling had to suspend the 16th stage of the competition due to a strike by local farmers. The protesters have blocked the road along which the race passes through tractors and bales of hay. To continue the “Tour de France” stage, the police had to intervene.

Farmers protested against the reduction of state support and chose a section of the route on which they will be broadcast. The police tried to disperse the strikers with tear gas, but because of their actions, some of the riders suffered.

Athletes had to wash their eyes with water and special preparations. According to theBBC, none of the participants in the race did not leave the race after the incident. The race continued about 15 minutes after the stop.
