Users of “Dvacha” found her parents – the father turned out to be the head of the local village soviet.
In the village of Mikhailovka in the Altai Territory, two girls, Ekaterina and Viktoria Shtraukh, were shot on video as an ax was killed by a kitten. The users of the “Dvach” image board found the personal pages of the authors’ parents and wrote them about the incident. The Ministry of Internal Affairs in the region has begun checking, and the first official to respond to the incident was Chechnya’s leader, Ramzan Kadyrov.
July 23 movie with the kitten’s murder was published by the Telegram-channel Life Shot – we do not recommend watching it as a minor and nervous . In the video, 16-year-old Ekaterina Shtraukh is holding a kitten and with a smile tells what she is going to do, her younger sister Victoria is filming. The first girl takes an ax and strikes several blows on the kitten, the second – emotionally comments on what is happening. The video goes a little more than a minute and ends after Catherine makes an animal with a few cuts with a knife and lifts his head.
According to users of “Dvacha”, they sent a video to the parents of the girls – Victor and Natalia Strauch, as well as the class teacher of one of the sisters. The mother of Catherine and Victoria commented on her page in Odnoklassniki (already removed) that her daughter “wanted to go to a vet,” and “the kitten was already sick,” adding that “this is not an excuse.”
On the afternoon of July 23, Natalia and Viktor Shtraukh removed their pages in VKontakte and Odnoklassniki, and Catherine and Victoria in Instagram and VKontakte. Before deleting the page, the girls’ father changed the status to: “I apologize to all, we are in shock” and closed private messages.
As the dvuchers found out, Viktor Shtraukh works in the administration of the Burlinsky district, where the village of Mikhailovka is located. The website of the region indicates that he is the head of the Mikhailovsky Village Soviet. The users of the imageboard also wrote appeals to the Investigative Committee, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the administration of the region with a request to check the video.
By the evening of July 23, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Altai Territory was informed that they would check the video on killing a kitten. The police will establish the girl’s identity and “give a legal assessment.” Local residents also created a petition on Change.org with a demand to punish the girls.
According to Article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation , cruel treatment of animals, resulting in death or injury and made of hooligan motives, is punishable by a fine of up to 80 thousand rubles, compulsory work lasting up to 360 hours, arrest for six months or restriction of freedom for a year. In 2017, two girls from Khabarovsk who killed dogs and cats from shelters received 4 years and 3 years, respectively.
The first Russian official in the video reacted to Ramzan Kadyrov in his Telegram channel. The head of Chechnya expressed confidence that the guilty will be punished, but it is necessary to conduct “active propaganda of the protection of the animal world”.
The worst thing is that it’s not uncommon for women to become female players. Such nightmarish situations show that these girls have no maternal instinct. Those who must give protection to the small and helpless are mocked and killed.
Kadyrov urged NGOs (non-profit organizations) involved in the protection of animals to work with federal agencies and talk about their activities in kindergartens and schools.
