The chip for mobile platforms Kirin 970 was presented at last year’s Berlin exhibition IFA in late August. Apparently, at the exhibition this year, Huawei will present the Kirin 980 with a maximum frequency, overclocked to 2.8 GHz, GSMArena reports with reference to Chinese sources.
Mobile “stone” will consist of 4 productive cores Cortex-A77 and 4 cores more poetic – Cortex-A55. The frequency of the latter is unknown. Last year’s Kirin 970 worked on a bunch of 4 cores Cortex-A73 and 4 cores Cortex-A53 with clock frequencies of 2.4 GHz and 1.8 GHz.
The novelty will be built on a 7-nanometer process technology company TSMC. Will acquire AI technologies from Cambricorn. The built-in graphics, according to rumors, will be one and a half times faster than the Adreno 630, which is now built into the system on a Snapdragon 845 chip.
It is assumed that the new chip debuts for the first time on smartphones Huawei Mate 20 and Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
