Hackers stole personal data from 1.5 million patients in a network of clinics in Singapore

The largest network of medical institutions in Singapore SingHealth was thevictim of a hacker attack. At the disposal of the attackers were data of one and a half million people and prescriptions of another 160 thousand patients.

The Minister of Health said that the attack was purposeful and well planned, and the hackers themselves are real professionals with powerful resources. In this case, the purpose of the attackers is unknown. The official suggested that hackers were looking for some secrets of SingHealth.

The authorities said that hackers did not have access to the diagnoses, the results of medical examinations and the notes of doctors – the attackers abducted information about the field, the address of residence, the date of birth, nationality, race, and so on.
