The suspect in the murder of a figure skater from Kazakhstan was detained in Almaty

Police of Kazakhstan detained one of two suspects in the murder of figure skater Denis Tena. This was reported by the republic’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to Interfax, the detention took place in Alma-Ata, Nuraly Kiyasov, born in 1994, was suspected. He gave confessions in the presence of a lawyer, he was placed in a temporary detention facility.

The second suspect continues to be searched. Other information in the Ministry of Internal Affairs was not specified “in the interests of the investigation”. As thenewspaper Nur.kz writes , the department spread the signs and disclosed the name of the second suspect. His name is Arman Kudaibergenov, he is also born in 1994.

July 19 in Almaty, Denis Ten caught two people while trying to steal mirrors from his car. Between them, a brawl took place, as a result of which the attackers inflicted a knife injury to the skater in the thigh. He was hospitalized in serious condition, he died a few hours later.

Immediately after the attack , an investigation was initiated under Article 106 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan (deliberate infliction of serious harm to health) and part 2 of Article 192 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan (robbery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. After it became known that the figure skater had died, Article 106 was re-qualified for part 2 of Article 99 of the Criminal Code (murder).
