One of the largest US mobile operators Verizon intends to close the 3G network by the end of next year. As part of the program to move to 4G, the company stops connecting to a mobile network without LTE support. The operator’s press release notes that currently its entire infrastructure is based on 4G.
According to official data, the coverage area of Verizon’s 4G network is about 98%. Currently, the company is actively exploring the possibilities of 5G networks.
