Broadcom agreed to acquire US software developer CA Technologies for $ 19 billion. CA Technologies was founded in 1976, formerly known as Computer Associates and developing software for mainframes. Since then, the scope of its activities has expanded, however, CA Technologies has not abandoned the “software” specialization.
Broadcom previously intended to buy another large American company – Qualcomm. The transaction for $ 117 billion was blocked by Donald Trump, who considered it unsafe for the country. In the spring, it was reported that the company located in Singapore is carrying out activities to transfer its headquarters in the United States.
The change of jurisdiction is likely to allow Broadcom to again compete for the assets of the American chip maker.
