Virgin Galactic wants to open a spaceport in Italy

Virgin Galactic has announced a partnership with two Italian aerospace companies. The plans of the American corporation are the opening in Italy of a commercial spaceport, from which tourist flights will be made.

Virgin Galactic intends to design a completely new flying spacecraft, which will be permanently located in Grottaglie Spaceport. Help in the project will be Altec, which belongs to the Italian space agency, as well as a large private company Sitael, writes The Verge.

The airframe can be used both for research and for those who wish to travel higher than the conventional aircraft.
