Tass: Moscow police are looking for fans who stole a sign near Moscow

The sign disappeared after the Russia-Spain match, with it foreigners were photographed. A criminal case was opened.

In Moscow, police opened a criminal case under Article 158 of the Criminal Code (“Theft”) after unknown persons stole a sign from the building of the Main Directorate of the Investigation Committee for the Moscow Region on Rozhdestvenka Street. This was reported by TASS sources in law enforcement agencies.

According to the interlocutors of TASS, the theft occurred at night on July 2 – at the same time in the center of Moscow passed festivities in connection with the victory of the Russian team in the 1/8 World Cup. Damage to the police was estimated at 13 thousand rubles.

The agency noted that in social networks there were subsequently photos on which foreign fans who arrived in Russia during the World Cup 2018 were photographed with a stolen tablet.

Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation provides for punishment of a fine of eight thousand rubles or “other income of the convicted person for a period of up to six months” up to imprisonment for up to two years.
