Two Minskers (28 and 30 years old) and a 22-year-old Iranian citizen were detained by officers of the high-tech crime detection group of the Soviet police department of Minsk for unauthorized access to the social network, according to the website of the Minsk city executive committee.
Several people turned to the Soviet police department as victims. It turned out that the cybercriminals committed crimes in Instagram, Internet banking of one of the capital’s banks, as well as the mail client (which is not specified). An Iranian resident who studies in a Minsk university blocked an email from one of the victims. Two Minskers made access to the post and Internet banking.
With respect to the detainees, criminal proceedings were instituted under Part 2 of Art. 349 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus – “Unauthorized access to computer information”. The sanction provides for imprisonment for up to two years.
