“Yandex.Browser” began to offer to automatically turn on the “Incognito” mode when visiting porn sites

Even if accidentally “burned”, the browser will remove the visit from the history.

When you enter the popular pornographic sites through Yandex.Browser, the application suggests opening them in the Incognito mode, one of correspondentsnoted . In this mode, the browser does not store the history of visits and search requests, and it also clears authorizations in third-party services (for example, social networks).

Representatives of Yandex confirmed that the function is new and has not yet been announced. It works like this: if the user enters the address of the porn site in the address bar, the first time a pop-up window appears with the suggestion to open this site in incognito mode.

If the user agrees, the site opens in a separate window in incognito mode, and the previously opened tab in normal mode closes and the visit is automatically deleted from the browser history along with the cookies. After that, the browser offers to automatically open pornographic sites in the “Incognito” mode.

The function works only in desktop versions of the browser. In the description of the incognito mode, the company emphasizes that it does not work as an “invisible”, because the user can still betray himself if, say, he is authorized in the social network (for example, the login in “VKontakte” is required to enter Pornhub from the territory of Russia ).

In “Yandex” did not tell where they got the list of porn sites, but the function works on all popular services. The company noted that the idea of the function “has long been in the air” – three million users of “Yandex.Browser” weekly at least once visit porn sites, and in the section Porn (opens on the same name) on “Yandex.Video” every day comes the order 500 thousand users.

At the end of 2017, Microsoft filed a patent application for a similar function of automatically switching to incognito mode in the Edge browser, but the patent description did not say when visiting which sites such a switch could occur. Yandex did not answer if the developers of Yandex.Browser were aware of such a patent application, but noted that Microsoft has so far only applied for US and international patents and has not yet received them. According to the press secretary of Yandex, Ilya Grabovsky, the company was invented a function earlier than the media reported on Microsoft’s patent application.
