In Austria, there was a protest against the 60-hour work week

In Vienna, on June 30, a protest action was held against the plans of the Austrian government to extend the permissible working day to 12 hours, and the working week to 60 hours.

The question on the poster: “Are you stupid?”

According to the police, 80 thousand people took part in the rally, according to trade unions – 100 thousand participants.

Now the working day in Austria is 8 hours, and the working week – 40 hours, although the enterprises have the right and now to occupy their employees for ten hours a day and up to 50 hours a week. The government of Sebastian Kurtz considers the allowances in working hours as a measure, thanks to which enterprises will have greater “flexibility” in the working schedule.
