In Moscow, Mexicans will celebrate their famous holiday “Day of the Dead”

From 11:00 to 16:00 in the house of the fans of Mexico in the Gostiny Dvor you can decorate yourself under the skeleton.

After applying makeup, Mexicans and others who want to participate in the parade will go to Red Square. The main square of the capital will be decorated with stylized skeletons of huge sizes, in the streets they will distribute sweets in the form of skulls. Carnival will end with an entertainment program in the house of fans with national dances, playing mariachi and stories about the cultural heritage of Mexico.

The Day of the Dead is a festival dedicated to the memory of the dead. According to the belief, these days the souls of deceased relatives visit their home. The tradition goes back to the Maya and Aztec Indians, who brought gifts to the goddess Miklosansuatl and built walls with the image of skulls – zompantli.

PS I do not know why today, because in general it’s an autumn holiday. Probably, Mexico wants to improve on other countries with its steep holidays. And maybe all Mexicans were registered in Moscow, and today their souls will visit their home, but I doubt it.
