Chinese manufacturer Vivo introduced its technology of three-dimensional recognition of faces. The system is able to recognize 300 thousand points – this is ten times more compared to the Face ID in the iPhone X.
As in Apple’s flagship, Vivo technology works through a separate sensor near the front camera. The system sends a light pulse and measures the time it takes to return it. Thus, a three-dimensional image of the user’s face is formed.
The more points the system is able to determine, the more precisely it works and the less the probability of an erroneous operation. Vivo technology operates at a distance of up to three meters.
In the future, the company intends to introduce a full-scale user scan for various chips: for example, a virtual fitting of clothes.
