The Office did not like the phrase about infecting “almost every second Russian” in the very video about Vick.
The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) initiated a case on violation of the law “On Advertising” in the video of condoms Durex. The department is unhappy with the phrase that “almost every second Russian is infected with a sexual infection.” However, the company refers to the data of the Moscow Department of Health.
As noted by the Federal Antimonopoly Service, the advertisement was noticed by citizens who were “offended or humiliated” by a video that leads to “wrong conclusions”. Video allegedly violated the laws of paragraph 11 of part 3 of Article 5 of the federal law “On Advertising” – a point about the validity of research in advertising.
Citizens point out that it [the advertisement] offends and degrades dignity, because it can be concluded that in Russia there is no system of medical care for the population, propaganda of a healthy lifestyle.
According to the FAS, the study referred to by Durex “lacks statistics on the incidence of the population.” Authors of advertising used the methodical recommendations №33 “How to give birth to a healthy child”, written by the Department of Health of Moscow. This footnote is in the video.
According to statistics, about half of Russians are infected with at least one sexually transmitted disease (STD).
In 2017, users of social networks resented this advertisement Durex, but for another reason. In two videos, the characters Vika and Ruslan, about which they are gradually being told behind the scenes, but in the end it turns out that they have syphilis and gonorrhea, respectively. The phrase “This is Vika, and her syphilis” has become aseparate meme for describing shocking situations.
