Source: new iPhone will get USB-C instead of Lightning connector

According to the Digitimes resource, the new iPhone range will debut with USB-C instead of the usual Lightning interface for Apple. A unified solution appeared for the first time in the Macbook Pro since 2016, and now the supposedly Cupertians want to add the connector to smartphones as well.

The remaining manufacturers (Xiaomi, Samsung, Huawei, and so on) are switching to USB-C, and Apple’s decision will well affect the unification of the charge. On the other hand, users will have to switch to new accessories, which was already when a bulky 30-pin connector was replaced with a compact Lightning. Currently used standards debuted in the iPhone 5.

This year is expected to premiere three iPhone. There are rumors about the successor to the iPhone X, its increased version of Plus, as well as the more affordable smartphone with a screen diagonal of 6.1 inches. In addition, there is information about the iPhone SE2, which probably will also be presented in the fall.
