Microsoft entered into an agreement to buy a service for code storage and joint development of Github. Details of the transaction are unknown. The acquisition was reported by Bloomberg with reference to its own sources.

It is noted that the decision was mutual: Microsoft agreed to buy Github, and the owners of the service chose the company because of the director general Sathya Nadella. It is unclear what exactly the top manager attracted shareholders.

How much Microsoft will pay as a result of the deal is not yet known. In 2015, Github was estimated at $ 2 billion, but CNBC believes that the company could now sell for $ 5 billion.

Github is a popular service for collective development and storage of code. The project is used by 27 million developers, including many large companies.
