The device will support Apple Music. Inside it is a subwoofer and an A8 chip, both on the iPhone 6, and six microphones for control. “Smart” assistant can play podcasts or read news reports.

Apple said that the built-in column Siri will be able to hear the question even with loud music. To record the sound you need to say “Hi Siri”. The company explained that HomePod will be able to take into account the size and shape of the room to calculate the propagation of sound. Users will be able to install two columns to work simultaneously.

To control the HomePod, you can use the touch panel on the top. It allows you to pause, switch the song or change the volume. There is also a LED-display on the top, reacting to the commands that the user gives to Siri.

The device will be sold in two color versions: black and white, the price – 349 dollars. In December, the column will appear in the United States, Britain and Australia, in 2018 – in other countries.

Rumors about the appearance of the “smart” column from Apple have appeared since the beginning of 2017. In early May, Amazon showed a new voice assistant Echo Show with a touch screen and video call function for $ 299. “Smart” column from Google is worth 129 dollars.
