Jeff Monson, a 47-year-old American soldier of mixed martial arts, received Russian citizenship. The decree signed by Vladimir Putin, published on the official website of legal information.

In April 2016, Monson told Sports.ru that he does not respect Gerard Depardieu, who received Russian citizenship in 2013, “although he does not like Russia.”

I do not even know if he lives [Depardieu] in Russia. No? He did it, ***** [pancake], only to get away from the tax system that he has in his homeland. And the only reason why he did it was that he is a very popular person. I do not respect him. And I will not shake his hand.
