Construction company Trump Organization, controlled by the family of US President Donald Trump, negotiated the construction of a skyscraper in Moscow Trump Tower. This was reported by the Washington Post referring to the records of lawyers of the organization and sources familiar with the preparation of the project.

According to the publication, the American developer of Soviet origin Felix Seater (Felix Sater, name at birth – Felix Satarov) persuaded Trump personally to come to the Russian capital and “squeeze” the proposal. Sources of the WP added that he pointed to the possibility of publishing positive remarks by Vladimir Putin about Trump.

The Washington Post noted that the project, which was to become “one of the largest in the history of real estate,” was closed in January 2016 – on the eve of the presidential primaries. Trump did not come to Russia, although his company applied to local officials, but did not receive “land and permission to continue [the project].”

Representatives of the White House and legal counsel Trump Michael Cohen (Michael Cohen) declined to comment on the report of the WP. Advocate Cohen Stephen Ryan (Stephen Ryan) said that his client already cooperates with the intelligence committees of both chambers of Congress and is ready to answer any of their questions about the failed construction of the Trump Tower in Moscow.

According to the BBC, Satarov met Trump in 2003 and for some time called himself a senior adviser to the billionaire. In 2006 he organized a trip to Moscow for Ivanka and Donald Trump Jr.. According to The New York Times, Satarov participated in the transfer to Trump’s assistant of a plan to resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

In December 2015, Trump said that he was not familiar with Felix Seiter. Its legal adviser, Alan Garten, denied the existence of direct relations between Trump and Seater, but later confirmed the authenticity of the business card, on which the developer was called the senior assistant entrepreneur.
