Head of Sony Interactive Entertainment John Coder announced the final stage of the life cycle of the PlayStation 4 gaming console. In a statement to analysts and investors, Kodera said that entering the final stage will negatively affect sales, but due to various related services (PlayStation Plus), the company’s financial performance will remain the same level.
Sony does not intend in the foreseeable future to stop selling the current generation of the popular set-top box, a significant reduction in sales is not expected. Especially considering the fast release of new titles for the PS4.
Coder also pointed to the development of the “virtual” segment – the PlayStation VR. The PlayStation Vue platform, in its turn, faced serious competition, however both directions will actively develop.
PlayStation 4, we recall, was released in 2013.
