Roman Abramovich was not extended with a British investor visa, which expired in him about three weeks ago. As reported by The Bell sources surrounded by a businessman, because of this, he came to the UK and did not qualify for the Chelsea match in the FA Cup final.

The interlocutors of the publication said that the official refusal to issue a visa was not, and the British authorities are still studying the documents of the businessman. The Bell pointed out that, according to the database of ADS-B Exchange, the last time Abramovich’s personal plane landed in London on April 1.

In March, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Britain announced that the authorities will recheck about 700 investment visas of wealthy Russians. It is not known whether Abramovich got an additional check. This happened after the deterioration of relations between Britain and Russia due to the poisoning of former spy Sergei Skripal. The UK Immigration Control Department declined to comment, as did the representatives of the businessman.

According to British law, an investment visa is issued for 3 years in case of transfer to the economy of two million pounds. Previously, the media wrote that Abramovich received a residence permit on one of the British islands.
