In one of the schools in the Chinese city of Hangzhou, an experimental “behavior management system in the classroom” was established, which will add trouble to the students. The system will monitor the behavior of students during the lessons, recognizing the faces of those who are distracted from the learning process.
Above the board in the classroom are three cameras, which, according to the expression of a person, can determine a person’s condition: sadness, joy, disappointment, fright, surprise, anger and neutral behavior. The student will receive notifications about which of the students are distracted.
While the system is installed only in one of the classes, but by the summer of this year it will be installed in all classes. The school authorities believe that this technology does not infringe the privacy of students.
