The Russian hockey team lost to Canada with a score of 4: 5 in the quarterfinals of the World Cup, which is held in Denmark. For the first time since 2013 Russian hockey players have remained without medals in this competition. The text broadcast of the match was led by Sports.ru.

In February, hockey players from Russia won the gold of the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, where players from the National Hockey League did not participate. They went around the Germans, beating them in the final with a score 4: 3.
