Samsung is negotiating the supply of Exynos processors to a number of mobile device manufacturers, including ZTE. In this case, the Korean giant will compete more seriously Qualcomm, and ZTE will be able to bypass the ban on the use of Snapdragon chips in smartphones supplied in the US.
As noted by Reuters, the only “external” buyer of Exynos processors today is the Chinese Meizu. Negotiations are currently in progress with OEMs that could enter the sales network of Samsung processors. It is expected that the new buyer Exynos will be called in the first half of 2019.
There are no concrete agreements between Samsung and ZTE at the moment.
