The Chinese company OnePlus introduced the smartphone 5T – an improved version of OnePlus 5, released in the summer of 2017. The main difference from the previous model was the “frameless” design without a fingerprint scanner on the bottom panel, as well as the emergence of a system for unlocking the device face.

The technology of Face Unlock uses only the front camera without infrared sensors to scan the face, as in the iPhone X. However, in OnePlus they focused on the speed of unlocking: according to the developers, the system works in 0.2 seconds. In this case, the fingerprint sensor remained, but “moved” to the back panel.

In comparison with OnePlus 5, the diagonal of the screen of the new model increased from 5.5 to 6 inches, but the size of the case remained the same due to the reduction of the frames. The rear camera of the smartphone did not change much: only the diaphragm of the second camera was changed for improved shooting in the dark. The resolution of the front camera increased to 16 megapixels.

OnePlus left a 3.5mm headphone jack. Earlier, the head of the company Pete Lau (Pete Lau) promised to keep the minijack and not go on about the “industry trends”.

The version of the phone with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory will cost 499 dollars (29.5 thousand rubles), and the version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory – 559 dollars (33.5 thousand rubles). Sales of the device in the US will begin on November 21. The date of launch of sales and the official price in Russia are unknown.
