The organizers of the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize for the best humorous book in English refused to award the prize in 2018. According to the jury, none of the 62 nominated novels turned out to be impressive and funny enough.

Members of the jury read many “funny and well-written” books, but none of them fell into the main criterion – did not cause loud and unanimous laughter from all the judges. “We want to maintain extremely high standards of humorous literature,” said publisher David Campbell.

The winner of the Woodhaus Prize is given champagne, a box of books and a pig, which they call in his honor. The organizers promised that in 2019 the author of the funniest book will be presented with an especially large pig and a large bottle of champagne. This is the first year in 18 years, when the jury could not choose the winner.
