The tax service in Tver came with a check to the homemade confectioner who was selling homemade cakes in Instagram. He was forced to submit income declarations with income amounts for the last two tax periods (calendar years).

In the interdistrict IFTS reported that they conducted a control purchase of sweets from the confectioner from the Proletarsky district. The seller did not have the registration of an individual entrepreneur, so he transferred an income declaration for the last two years as an individual.

According to the local publication Afanasy-Business, the tax authorities bought the products through Instagram and VKontakte. In social networks, they found another minimum of 29 same confectioners who were required to provide income statements.

April 24, the owner of one of the largest confectioneries in Russia, “Bakhetle” asked the president of Tatarstan to stop the activities of housewives who sell homemade cakes in social networks. She noted that “illegal competitors” do not observe sanitary norms and “take away” volumes from its supermarkets.

Under the law , sellers of confectionery products, which do not have the status of an individual entrepreneur, must submit declarations of the individual’s income to the tax. They also do not refer to self-employed citizens, in contrast to nannies, carers and tutors.
