IBM has prohibited all its employees from using removable media. This was reported to the company’s employees by the head of IBM for information security. The prohibition includes SD-cards, USB Flash-media, external hard drives, etc.
The innovation has already been tested on individual IBM units, and now it will spread to all company offices around the world. The ban is motivated by the need to minimize possible financial and reputational losses due to lost or misused devices. Instead, employees are advised to use cloud synchronization services.
