The wave of the HYIP was asleep, and you can discuss the novelty calmly.
We at pay a lot of attention to the iPhone X, because this is really the first generation of iPhones for years to come. It seems to me that the sixth one: first there was an iPhone 2G, then 3G / 3Gs, where the main innovation was not hardware, but the App Store, then – 4/4s, where they completely changed the appearance, made a clear screen and a powerful camera. Generation iPhone 4 / 4s gave impetus to the development of mobile photo and video applications, under inspiration from the iPhone 4 camera was created Instagram. iPhone 5 remained in our memory thanks to the iPhone SE and the Touch ID sensor. And since the iPhone 6 has changed a little: the body remained aluminum, the device of the smartphone – about the same, only there was an increased Plus-model with a dual camera. And embedded in this generation of 3D Touch is now almost never used – it never caught on.
On the outcome of the first month with the iPhone X I can say the following: the fact that the company still decided to abandon the button “Home” will bring huge changes not only in the world of smartphones, but in general in all mobile equipment. Why did I come to this conclusion – a little lower, but for now let’s start with the impressions.
One month’s experience – in one paragraph
iPhone X is more convenient than the iPhone 8 Plus. The screen is awesome. Cutout at the top of the screen (“bangs”) does not enrage and does not interfere. The strip at the bottom of the screen is very infuriating. Face ID – does not work as well as Apple wants to make everyone think, but it works. Many bugs in third-party applications, they are too slow to update. Very quickly the battery sits down. The camera is ordinary: progress is not noticeable here. Animoji – funny at one time.
And now in detail about the pros. They are few.
The most notable is the design and screen
iPhone X really looks cool. It has an excellent metal frame: in the black model, the metal is coated with paint and creates a feeling of a solid bar, while in the silver model it is chrome-plated (so it does not peel like a black one), the frame serves as a transition between the white back cover and the black display. In the OLED display of the iPhone X, the black color is really black, although at a certain angle of inclination with the screen off, you can see where the display ends and frame frames begin.
A beautiful screen and a stylish original design is also available, for example, the latest Samsung models, but it is still not recognizable and is not the standard. Apple is making such a powerful bet on the iPhone X that it drew a separate icon for it with a cutout and no “Home” button.
Thanks to the protruding “ears” of the screen, the iPhone X is easy to identify among other smartphones: for this it is not necessary that it has a branded wallpaper or ringtone. On the first day of use, even before the start of sales, I went to the metro with the iPhone X, and the guy standing two meters from me recognized me on the neckline, what exactly I had in my hands – came up, asked, and a couple of days we met with him at the start of sales .
The cutout does not interfere with the viewing of video or photographs: in most cases, in its place there is no important information, and if you want to immerse yourself in the atmosphere, you can safely leave the content open to the full screen. It irritates only occasionally – in applications where content is not scaled and located in landscape mode, for example, in games.
The last thing you want to discuss from the design of the iPhone X is the display frame. They also serve as a visual distinctive element (because the iPhone has always had strictly rectangular screens before), but they do not allow the iPhone X to be called truly frameless. This is for the best: truly frameless phones are not so comfortable to hold in your hands – your fingers will somehow touch the screen with girth. The framework for the iPhone X – here you can not choose another word – normal: for them and keep comfortable, and the thickness they have constant, so they look aesthetically pleasing.
In general, the screen of the iPhone X looks like there is no gap between the glass and the display itself. When you look at it, it seems that it is ultra-thin and glued directly over the glass. Together with the neat frames, it creates an inexpressible sense of compactness of technology, which was not in the past iPhones.
This screen has non-standard proportions: it is slightly stretched compared to the usual iPhone, and this allows you to accommodate more content along the length. It was clearly created for applications with an endless tape: they show more information on the iPhone X, but, for example, the images in the Instagram will be slightly smaller than on the Plus version.
What’s good in Face ID
The main thing that is discussed in light of the release of the iPhone X is the Face ID technology. It’s understandable: old iPhones do not have it, and face recognition on other smartphones still leaves much to be desired. Face ID on the iPhone X is, it turns out, convenient. But not too much.
Most importantly, what you need to understand about Face ID – it allowed to remove the button “Home” from the front of the smartphone and not to do the sensor of the fingerprint from behind. Now the largest manufacturers of smartphones put the sensor behind, and this is not always from a good life: Samsung in the latest Galaxy models it is placed so that you constantly miss and stick your finger in the camera. In others, it is more convenient, but it still has to be groped – although in general this is only a matter of habit. But if you put a case on the smartphone, then touching the sensor becomes a bit more difficult, and there is also a problem with using it on the street in winter, when many wear gloves. Plus not solved even in Touch ID problems with dirty or wet fingers.
Face ID allows you to take on the smartphone as you like, and unlock the screen just by looking at the camera. It really works as Apple says: the system reads the face in both bright light and darkness, even if it is covered with a hat and scarf. In the process of testing the iPhone X, I cut my hair and changed my hair from long to short – at work Face ID it did not affect at all.
With iOS 11, you can hide the text of notifications when the screen is locked and display their text after Face ID unlocks the screen. In iPhone X, this function works by default, so I first thought it was made for him. In fact, it can be included on older iPhones: the text of messages is displayed when you touch the Touch ID. Works equally well: lifted the phone, the screen caught fire, immediately unblocked and showed notifications, and another person did not read them.
All applications automatically began to use Face ID instead of Touch ID, so the replacement went unnoticed: and the developers here did not have to strain, and users did not suffer. Apple Pay with Face ID is still convenient: before it was necessary to reach out with a finger on the sensor and wait a moment while the payment will pass – now it is necessary to authorize an iPhone for payment in advance and then only to stretch it to the terminal. If you have an Apple Watch, the payment with their help has not changed in any way.
And the last thing about Face ID: the system is used not only to unlock the smartphone and provide security, but also to enhance convenience. Face ID by default requires that the owner look at the camera – the system can determine whether a person is attentive to the screen (the function is called “Attention”). This factor is used to mute the sound of calls and notifications: if the owner has already picked up an iPhone and looks at the screen, you do not need to continue to attract his attention.
Gestures are cool
Since the “Home” button is no longer there, Apple had to figure out how to implement part of the functions tied to it. Gestures were an excellent way out of the situation: for a month I was completely used to how to switch between applications using svaypov.
The moment of knowing Zen came for me in a couple of weeks, when I had to use old smartphones again, and I realized how weaned from clicking on the button. Even on Android, I wanted to automatically make a svayp to go to the home screen. But no – there you have to press the buttons.
Gestures alone are not better and not worse than buttons, but their main advantage is that they can save a lot of space on the screen, and there is no need for additional actions, like on Android, where to exit the full-screen mode, you first need to “get” the buttons on the side screen. Once Apple abandoned the physical keyboard, and 10 years after the first iPhone, no one complains that modern smartphones no longer have tactile buttons for typing. Now the same thing happens with the “Home” button.
Stabilization of both cameras
The only thing that really makes the iPhone X camera stand out compared to other smartphones and earlier iPhones is full optical stabilization. When shooting a video, it now works in both cameras – both wide-angle and telephoto. It sounds like something very insignificant, but it’s enough to remember how often you shoot movies in vertical mode on the go for stories in Instagram – or see such videos from other people.
Often in the history of daily observations are removed, and switching from a conventional camera to a telephoto makes sense if the object of observation is far away – and after all, shooting is on the run, hands are shaking. Now all these videos look even better, although Instagram itself still shows them in disgusting resolution. But the camera will not shake!
Rumors about my death are somewhat exaggerated
In a few days after the start of sales of the iPhone X, reports of its fatal flaws began to appear: the screen froze in the cold, then a green strip appeared on the entire length of the screen, then there was a crackling sound from the speakers, then the paint was peeling off the metal frame. Such news always appears after the release of new generations of smartphones (take the same burnup from Google Pixel 2 ), and in the case of Apple’s technique, media attention to them is heightened – many really want to see how the company mistakes: “The big cabinet falls louder.”
Problems really are, but they are not as massive as it might seem at first glance. The most significant of them is the glitches of the screen in the cold: this is the real problem that Apple confirmed and a week later corrected the firmware update. Even before the update, I tried to check whether the iPhone X will be stupid in the cold, but no matter how I try to show a bug, nothing happened. Even put the iPhone X for a while in the freezer – the phone froze, but no problems with the screen was observed.
After the release of iOS 11.1.2, I once again tried to walk along the street in the cold with iPhones in my hands and follow how it works: it turned out that the hands in any case freeze faster than the iPhone. I even put it in the snow for a couple of minutes: the screen was covered with condensation, but worked properly.
Green stripes and problems with sound, I have not met – here, or need a defective iPhone (in this case, change the warranty in the service center), or everything is fine. But I thought about checking the burnout effect: OLED screens with strong brightness elements of the interface that are constantly in one place can cause burning – when the picture changes, and the phantom element stays in place. The bottom strip created in the iPhone X instead of the “Home” button, in many applications just can not be removed – and I was afraid that in its place will remain a trace.
I use the sleep tracker Sleep Cycle, which, due to work features overnight, requires leaving the screen turned on (but lowers its brightness to a minimum), and this strip remains on the dark background. After three weeks of daily use of the tracker on average for eight hours I did not notice any burnout effect. However, Apple itself and warned that the screen will burn out if the picture will remain fixed at high brightness. They say, and with Google Pixel 2, the situation is overly exaggerated, but in general OLED displays really sin burn-out – although, in the iPhone X, he would rather die from a stroke than from this notorious effect.
Face ID annoys with unsuccessful reads
Apple can repeat as many times as possible that Face ID makes a mistake in one situation per million, but it’s about the chance that a stranger will successfully pass the verification from an iPhone of another owner. But the owner of the iPhone unlocks his face with a much higher probability of error: according to my feelings, about 15-20% of the cases for one reason or another, Face ID did not recognize me.
These unsuccessful attempts at recognition are very annoying. Firstly, I do not understand why Face ID does not recognize me – is something wrong with the face? Should I take off my hat? Not so I hold the iPhone? It seems not, but still something went wrong. Well, I’ll have to enter a password.
Secondly, if the Face ID did not work for the first time, then the second check can be performed by turning the display off and on again (as corrected by glavred DTF Vadim Yelistratov, you can still raise the shutter – but for this you need to hold the phone the way you type it ). This is annoying: you need to press one button, wait, click again – and not the fact that this time the authorization will be successful. There is a subtlety: in case of unsuccessful recognition it is possible to enter a password, and then Face ID “will draw conclusions for itself” – uses the obtained data for learning the algorithm.
Perhaps the greatest stupidity – Face ID can not be used in landscape mode: in this case, it simply does not define the face. Moreover, if the iPhone X, lying on the table, immediately lift in landscape mode, the screen will not light up automatically – it will happen only if you lift the iPhone while holding it vertically. In the case of Touch ID, the finger can be applied in any way, it is still successfully considered – but, it should be noted, also not in 100% of cases.
“Convenient access” uncomfortable
Previously, pulling the screen down by double-tapping the “Home” button (this function is called “Convenient Access”) worked in an ideal way. The “Home” button is located on the most convenient place for the thumb, and double tap on it successfully worked in 99% of cases. Now there is no button, and the smartphone, although it decreased in size, but the screen of the iPhone X is even longer than that of the Plus version, so it’s even harder to reach for the content and buttons on top.
In the iPhone X “convenient access” is not a damn convenience. First, it is turned off by default, and you still need to be aware of it in order to find it in the settings and turn it on. Unexpected users, apparently, will have to reconcile with the fact that up to the top of the screen with one hand does not reach. Secondly, even if the function is turned on, then it will not work perfectly: the content is pulled down the svaypu from the top down to the bottom strip, which in some cases replaced the “Home” button.
The function does not work all the time – I almost never get a gesture the first time. Moreover, the strip is lower than the “Home” button, and the big finger has to bend more strongly – and in fact the lower edge of the screen is still usually supported by the little finger, because of what the grip needs to be changed a little. And there is still a situation when the smartphone is in a horizontal position – for example, when you lie in bed or on the couch – and then intercept it with one hand is not an option at all.
For me, “convenient access” has become a torment, and I rarely resort to it. And it is because of it that the iPhone X, almost identical in size to that created for the one-handed mode of the iPhone, often has to be held with both hands, like the iPhone Plus.
By the way, the bottom bar is almost always displayed at the bottom of the screen, which often distracts from the content or overlaps some element of the application interface. In some applications, it automatically hides to not distract – but experience shows that while mostly in the system, for example, in the photo gallery, and for very large services like YouTube.
The iPhone X can over-heat unnecessarily, even when it does not do much-for example, when it’s on charge or when the browser is open. Particularly, it began to warm up after the release of iOS 11.1.2, which allegedly solves the problem with the crinkling of the screen in the cold.
The usual condition of the iPhone X at room temperature is a slightly warm body. Suddenly, for some internal reasons, from use, he can warm up to a level where keeping it in his hand is already becoming uncomfortable – the heat is felt even through the cover. Although this effect is sometimes seen on other smartphones, in the case of the iPhone X, it disappoints: what are you, Apple, in the worst traditions of irresponsible manufacturers, has not calculated how your powerful hardware will heat the case?
Especially heating is noticeable, as can be expected, in games. Three weeks after the start of sales of the iPhone X came the GRID race, in which the “console level of graphics” is promised. Graphics there is ordinary – not a head taller than in free simulators – but even on the iPhone X the frame sometimes sags up to 5 frames per second (on the sly): naturally, while the smartphone is very hot. Can you imagine yourself playing on the console, holding the joystick in the hands of a cup corresponding to a cup of water with boiling water? And with the iPhone X this is an ordinary case.
Animoji – fun, but only the first time
Animoi animated animations are pampering, which nobody seriously discusses. They work only as a competent proof of concept – proof that the TrueDepth camera in the hands of skillful developers is capable of impressive things . However, especially observant bloggers have already found out that Animoji work without TrueDepth sensors – perhaps Apple has prepared this chip specifically for the iPhone X, so it was easier to sell.
In fact, in real life, no one will ever use Animoji to communicate with friends. Perhaps, sometimes it will be appropriate to send an animated shit instead of the usual emoji, but in Russia iMessage still does not enjoy such popularity as in the US.
Advantages of the new camera I did not notice
The new flagship Apple received a very high rating (97 points, less than Google Pixel 2) from the profile portal DxOmark, which called the iPhone X the best smartphone for shooting photos. But if you go into details, it turns out that the iPhone X has a good HDR, but, for example, it loses to the Galaxy Note 8 camera in sharpness with a double zoom, and the video quality at its average is good, but not outstanding.
However, most of the consumption of your photos and video, most likely, also belongs to smartphones. On a small screen, it simply will not be noticeable whether a good picture has become even better or not – the mobile photo has already approached this limit. In case of insufficient lighting, the iPhone X can save a bad picture – or it may not save, everything will depend on the situation and the experience of the photographer.
If you do not take into account the optical stabilization of both cameras, the other improvements introduced into the iPhone X (for example, the telephoto lens began to let in 30% more light than the iPhone 8), the unaided eye is invisible, and sometimes it’s not obvious at all whether the camera began to work better or worse. For example, in November I was with a girl at a concert: she walks with the iPhone 6s, and she took some pictures at the same moments and from the same points as me. The final result is not easy to distinguish, where the photo is from the iPhone X, and where from the iPhone 6s – and in fact there are three generations between them.
For the curious: in each pair of pictures the first is made on the iPhone 6s, and the second on the iPhone X.
I will not pretend that I am a specialist in photography: I have no idea how everything is arranged there. Therefore, from my experience of shooting on the iPhone X I can only make three trivial conclusions:
1. With poor lighting, the iPhone X slightly better sees what is happening around;
2. Optical stabilization of both cameras is better than optical stabilization of one camera;
3. In other respects, the camera iPhone X corresponds to what is usually considered a good camera in the smartphone. She does not jump above her head, but she does not have any obvious drawbacks – perhaps, in addition to the portrait mode.
Portrait mode is not a panacea, but rather a homeopathy
The background blur function known as the “bokeh effect” is the main marketing feature of the dual camera in iPhone since the time of iPhone 7 Plus and its main drawback. Advertising Apple (and other competing companies) gives the impression that this mode allows any person to make a high-quality portrait shot with a single button. But in fact, even after two generations – iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 – this function still does not work as expected: to the level of “clicked, snapped and got a great shot”, to which everyone is accustomed to the usual iPhone camera, the portrait mode is not it is.
The main problem – the sensors with which the camera builds the model of the world around them, do not work exactly: for the portrait mode, it is quite common for a part of the hair or even the ears to be considered part of the background and washed or cut from a photograph. The final result sometimes looks simply disgusting, and not the most perfect examples of the work of the function Apple does not hesitate to show in marketing .
I did not use Pixel 2 myself, but the video blogger Maxim Khoroshev ( Rozetkedproject ) repeatedly compared the portrait modes of the flagships of Google and Apple. He concluded that Pixel 2 makes portrait shots much clearer, probably due to powerful machine learning.
Of course, Khoroshev could just nahimichit with settings and as an Android fan to wish for the reality. But I myself did a lot of portrait shots – and never, even in ideal studio conditions, I could not get a great photo from the first time. Good, medium and bad turned out – but so that one click to make a beautiful shot with spectacular blurring and clear details of the person in the frame – no. First, you need experience – portrait mode requires skill, it can not be used as a panacea for obtaining an excellent frame. Secondly, pictures with poorly applied bokeh effect can be fixed – but, unfortunately, not by system means.
To edit the portrait pictures there is an excellent and free application Focos : perhaps, many will recognize it by popular “social layout” photos in layers in depth. In Focos, you can choose which area to blur, and which one to keep clear – so you can achieve a better result.
Weak battery for the flagship
Moving from the time of iPhone 6s to the Plus version, I stayed on it for the last few years. Her huge size gave her not only a large screen, but also a serious battery, working all day long and sometimes even longer. The main thing that has changed in my life – I stopped worrying about that until the evening the smartphone can suddenly be discharged: this did not happen once. And although I always had a portable charge with me just in case, this reinsurance was superfluous.
So: one charge iPhone X with average use I have about until lunch. In this it is very similar to an ordinary iPhone.
Yes, it is strange to expect from a compact smartphone, almost identical in size to the iPhone, something outstanding in terms of battery life. Perhaps the iPhone X really works 2 hours longer than the iPhone 8, as Apple claims – but that’s not enough. I thought that the optimization of the system will decide everything that Apple will be able to make such energy savings that the iPhone X will be able to stretch out at least until the evening – but this did not happen.
Therefore, the iPhone X will have to be recharged at every convenient and uncomfortable case, otherwise it can sit on the way home or at some critical moment. This, unfortunately, is not the level of the flagship.
It is very expensive, and a breakdown will cause a heart attack
The price of the iPhone X was not discussed only by the lazy, but I’ll just record: it’s really a very expensive smartphone, which costs much more than its direct competitors – so the demand is appropriate. But the fans of Apple choice is small: no matter how much it costs, this is the best iPhone at the moment.
But it’s not enough to spend on the iPhone X from 80 thousand rubles: you need to understand how much will cost a possible repair. Drop tests have already
Apple itself does not repair smartphones – this is done by authorized service centers (ASCs). In one of these centers, I learned that the replacement of the cracked screen of the iPhone X will cost 23,700 rubles + another 3,000 rubles for the service: the second component, apparently, is the own margin of the ASC, if you believe the explanations of the official support service Apple. This is expensive: in the case of the iPhone 7, a similar service will cost 12,000 rubles.
But the broken screen is not the worst that can happen with the iPhone X. If the rear window is cracked, then it will not be repaired – this operation is not performed even in the ASC. In this case, the only way to restore the old look of the smartphone is to buy a new one under the trade-in program, which will cost 47,700 rubles, while the old iPhone X should not be shredded. And 47 thousand rubles – this is more than half the cost of the iPhone X (or the whole iPhone 7).
What I did not study
I did not check the work of the iPhone X underwater – it is not intended for this, although numerous tests show that when immersed, it not only does not break, but it continues to work. Probably, you can record video under water – but personally I was not interested. It’s also enough that in the rain and after plunging into the snow iPhone X feels wonderful.
I almost did not test wireless charging – I only know that they charge about as fast as a normal adapter. To buy a separate wireless charging from a third-party manufacturer like Mophie or Belkin – probably not the most reasonable investment of money. As for convenience, it roughly corresponds to the docking station (it’s easy to put a smartphone on it, it’s easy to take it off), usually the area of charging is enough for only one smartphone, it can not be carried around – but it increases the convenience.
I think that the mat of AirPower, which Apple promises to release in 2018, will be better – it has more space, you can charge two smartphones and watches at the same time – but it will cost more. This is for aesthetes. Just in case, I note: you can charge the smartphone, only lying on the back cover – through the screen wireless charging does not work.
I did not test a fast (and expensive) adapter, but I’m sure it will come in handy for those whose working day is 80% of calls and mobile Internet. Those who have a new MacBook Pro, you can simply buy a wire from USB-C to Lightning, and quickly charge from the laptop or from its adapter.
And, of course, I did not test the iPhone X for impact resistance. Found a fool.
And now – conclusions.
iPhone X is the flagship, but it’s not a replacement for iPhone Plus
When I first started using the iPhone X, it seemed to me that it was not only the best smartphone available today, but it was also a full-fledged replacement for the iPhone Plus, which was considered the oldest model before the release of the novelty. After a month of use it’s obvious for me: this is not an equivalent replacement, Plus-version is now not an “average” model, it’s just an iPhone from another generation, but with your own, sorry for the tautology, pluses.
First, the form factor iPhone X itself visually distinguishes it among both models – it’s smaller than Plus, but slightly larger than the usual iPhone, and it’s very noticeable. It can not be fully used with one hand, like the iPhone 8 – the old model has a normal “Easy Access”, it has less screen, and the interface works differently (for example, the control center curtain opens from the bottom, not from the top – you do not have to reach it).
Secondly, for people whose work depends heavily on the smartphone (mobile Internet, navigation, applications), the battery of the iPhone X will not be powerful enough. In this regard, the iPhone Plus has always been a Pro version (although Apple did not quite position it), and the iPhone X is not up to its resources by resources. For one day of active work its battery is not enough – and with Plus such a problem almost never was.
Thirdly, the screen of the iPhone X, although longer, but not as wide as that of the Plus – and the video is more convenient to watch after all on Plus, whose screen is ideal for the popular 16: 9 format.
But all this is overlapped by other virtues. The screen of the iPhone X is much better and more pleasant, it is activated by pressing: Samsung Galaxy has been around for a long time, but they also display brief information (time, notifications) – it’s a bit annoying in the dark. iPhone X in this regard is laconic and strict.
The iPhone X is better than the camera with full stabilization of video shooting, it has a more stylish body (although not so durable, but all iPhones in any case have to be worn in cases), it has Face ID and Animoji, it has more sensors, it has a little differently (sometimes more convenient, sometimes less) is arranged iOS. This is certainly the flagship, the first in many years the new generation of Apple smartphones, which looks for a reserve for the future.
Should I take it for the New Year?
iPhone X – the device is demanding: to appeal, to the resources of the battery, to the habits of the user and, most importantly, to money. This is the most expensive smartphone from the premium segment. He is not for everyone – and not even for everyone who can afford it.
If your girlfriend, wife, husband or child wants an iPhone X and do not know why – they will not be able to explain why they should wait. But Apple fans who are used to trying the very best and the best from the world of technology, iPhone X definitely like it.
It is noteworthy that the hysteria around the iPhone X has significantly dropped a month after the start of sales – and in the beginning of December there will already be new deliveries, so most likely the purchase at face value will not be a problem. I can recommend it to at least those who want to know what the world of smartphones will be in a year – and wants to try it now.
And if the shortage of the iPhone X at the start of sales was not caused by production problems, Apple should have created it in an artificial way: how difficult it is to get the most unusual smartphone in a long time, only strengthened its marketing. For some reason, walking with the latest iPhone model again became somehow, but a sign of elitism, visible at first sight.
Humble: soon all smartphones will be like the iPhone X
When Apple abandoned the audio, did not criticize the company only lazy – but after a couple of years this decision is not even condemned, because it is implemented almost everywhere. Only Samsung still leaves on the fact that the Galaxy has audiojacks – but soon they will also promote their wireless headphones: from the future without wires no longer escape.
Do not go away from the trend for frameless smartphones, which can not be fully realized without giving up the button “Home” in one form or another. Apple came to an elegant solution to the problem using the Face ID + bundle of gestures, but it will not be easy for other manufacturers to copy this – for such innovations, the Android system itself must first be ready, so everyone will have to wait for Google’s progress.
And a little more about the gestures: when in the summer of 2017 Apple showed iOS 11, many reviewers wrote how the work with the iPad was transformed under it. There, too, now much is tied to gestures and dragging elements, but only after the release of the iPhone X it became clear that all this is part of one big paradigm in which there is already no room for buttons.
The most accurate predictor of Apple solutions, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo ten days after the start of sales outlined the next generation of iPhones: the iPhone X will become the younger model, a Plus version with an OLED screen will appear and there will still be a Plus version with a TFT display -LCD. But everyone will have a cutout with Face ID and there will not be a button home.
It turns out that in 2018 we are likely to see a new flagship in this paradigm – with an even sharper screen, with a more powerful battery and, perhaps, other innovations. But it will be an attempt number seven.
For now – all eyes on iPhone X.
