According to insiders, the company finally abandons the old design of smartphones.
Apple in 2018 will release three new smartphones in the design of the iPhone X: without the “Home” button, with a cutout for the front camera and Face ID. This was told by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, known for accurate insider forecasts.
According to him, in addition to the 5.8-inch iPhone with OLED-display (updated iPhone X), in the lineup there will be a model Plus with screen sizes of 6.5 inches. Also Ming-Chi Kuo expects the appearance of another smartphone with the same design, but with a 6.1-inch LCD-matrix, as in the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. All three devices will be equipped with the TrueDepth system, responsible for Face ID, Animoji and portrait mode.
According to KGI, the LCD-smartphone will be positioned as more affordable: the display resolution will be lower, and the smartphone itself will be made from cheaper materials. The analyst estimates its value at 649 (almost 39 thousand rubles) or 749 dollars (almost 45 thousand rubles).
If Ming-Chi Kuo’s predictions are correct, it means that Apple will completely abandon the old iPhone design that the company adhered to with the iPhone 6. The insider believes that the three devices in the new design will not create delays in production and launch, because Apple by 2018 will establish technology deliveries for the iPhone X.
