Portal The Verge tells you how to install on your smartphone beta version of the operating system from Google, the official release of which will be held later this summer.
Usually the possibility of installing beta versions is limited to smartphones from Google, but this time the public beta is available for models of other manufacturers. Here is their full list at the moment:
- Pixel 2 / Pixel 2 XL
- Pixel / Pixel XL
- Essential Phone
- Sony Xperia XZ2
- OnePlus 6 (soon, OnePlus 5 and 5T will get Android P “later this year”)
- Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S
- Nokia 7 Plus
- Oppo R15 Pro
- Vivo X21
If you have Pixel, then everything is simple: go to the Android Beta site , register there to gain access to pre-release versions of Android P, which will appear regularly there in the next few months. Your Google account must be tied to the smartphone you want to install the new product to.
Soon after registration you will receive a notification on the smartphone about the availability of updates. All. Just remember that the download speed of updates may depend on how many more impatient people want to install them simultaneously with you.
But if you do not have Pixel, but one of the models from the list above, you’ll have to work and install the OS on the smartphone by its firmware (and in addition to understand the English language).
