How to cure a hung iPhone after a bug with a black dot in iMessage

Today it became known about the bug in iOS 11.3 and iOS 11.4, because of which only one message received leads to the hang of a smartphone or tablet. The combination of several characters, including a black dot and a smiley with a pointing finger, can lead to problems when working with iMessage.

We will re-arrange this combination again. We are talking about the symbols ⚫️ and 👈.

If someone joked at you and the messenger iMessage now works inadequately, do the following.

On smartphones with 3D Touch

Step 1: Force the iMessage application to close.

Step 2. Ask Siri to respond to the sent message (with a black dot). Make the problem symbol appear on the screen.

Step 3. Using the 3D Touch function on the iMessage icon, open the context menu and select New message .

Step 4. Click Cancel in the dialog that opens, creating a new message.

Step 5. Click Edit in the upper left corner of the chat list.

Step 6. Delete the conversation thread with the problem message.

On smartphones without 3D Touch

Step 1: Force the iMessage application to close.

Step 2. Ask Siri to respond to the sent message (with a black dot). Make the problem symbol appear on the screen.

Step 3. Open the Messaging application .

Step 4. Click the blue arrow in the upper left corner to return to all the dialogs.

Step 5. Delete the thread with the problem dialog.

On the Mac, also delete the dialog that contains the same message with the black dot.

After the completed steps iMessage will work stably and without problems.
