Putin again offered Medvedev the post of prime minister

The candidature must be approved by the State Duma.

Vladimir Putin invited the State Duma to retain Dmitry Medvedev as prime minister. The State Duma should approve the candidacy of the new deputy president. This was reported by the Kremlin website.

As told State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, the candidature of a new Prime Minister, in the case of the nomination on May 7 will consider at the meeting at 15:00 local time on 8 May. Similarly, the procedure was carried out in 2012, when Medvedev and Putin on May 9 took the parade to the Victory Day together.

May 7, Putin for the fourth time became the president of Russia until 2024. After that, according to the Constitution, he sent the government of Dmitry Medvedev to resign to recruit a new one. Then he proposed a new candidacy for the prime minister, which the State Duma should approve. He, in turn, offers an official to the posts of federal ministers.
Dmitry Medvedev was in office as head of government for six years: he was appointed Putin on May 8, 2012. From 2008 to 2012, he served as president.
