May 5, throughout Russia, supporters of Aleksei Navalny intend to hold the action “He is not our king”, timed to the inauguration of Vladimir Putin.

The leading broadcasts on the YouTube channel “Navalny Live” reported that concerted actions took place in Vladivostok and Khabarovsk and in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The events also began in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Irkutsk.

On the eve in St. Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Krasnodar, Ryazan, Tambov, Kemerovo and Cheboksary detained activists who called for participation in the actions. In some cities, including Moscow and St. Petersburg, the action is not coordinated. In Krasnoyarsk, before the action, the coordinator of Navalny’s headquarters, Janu Gerasimov, was detained , she is accused of organizing an uncoordinated event.

Navalny announced the action “He’s not our king” on April 12. According to the politician, the elections held on March 18 gave Putin “royal authority”, and he is going to run the country as “personal property”. Among the goals of the action, Navalny called the fight against corruption, poverty and inequality, as well as a protest against the actions of Roskomnadzor to block Telegram.
