In Volgograd, restore the sunken Soviet armored car (4 photos)

In Volgograd there is a restoration of the Soviet armored car, raised from the bottom of the Volga. The ship sank on October 9, 1942 at the height of the battle for Stalingrad. The armored car came under a dagger fire disguised by a German battery, tried to get out from under it, but got multiple holes and sank. The specialists managed to identify the remains of the deceased sailors and contact some of their relatives. This is a unique find, since only seven such ships were built, which have not survived to this day. The armored car will be installed in a covered pavilion on the banks of the Volga, it will become a multimedia exhibit that will reproduce the last minutes of the crew’s life with the help of sound and light effects.
