On the night of April 24, Michigan police received reports that a potential suicide appeared on the road near Detroit. He stood on the bridge over the roadway and threatened to jump onto the road. The man was saved – with the help of several truck drivers.
At first the police blocked traffic on the highway. Then they contacted the truckers and asked them to help. 13 trucks were placed right under the bridge, blocking the whole way: so drivers reduced the potential drop by almost two times. The police spokesman noted that resorting to truckers in such cases is not uncommon, but he first saw so many participants in the “operation”.
Negotiations with a man lasted more than four hours. As a result, he agreed to go down and sought medical help.
