The Nizhny Novgorod Regional Court found the student of the Privolzhsky Medical University from Zimbabwe Kudzai Nyamarevu guilty of violating the rules of her stay in Russia, she was expelled to her homeland. As the familiar girl Galina Lyamina told , Nyamarevbu posted an invitation to the concert of African gospel music in VKontakte, which was regarded as missionary activity.

The regional court considered the complaint of the defender Nyamarev. According to the case materials , the girl “carried out missionary work in the Centralized Religious Organization Association of Churches of Christians of the Evangelical Faith” Embassy of Jesus “in the Nizhny Novgorod region”. In a conversation with, Lyamina specified that the event was held in the said church, however, she said, it was not about worship, “although gospel is spiritual folk music.”

In the case of Namyirevbu, a protocol was made on part 2 of Article 18.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation by a foreign citizen of the rules of entry into Russia or the regime of stay in Russia). On January 23, 2018, the Sormovskiy District Court found Namyarevu guilty. She was discharged a fine of five thousand rubles and ordered to be expelled from Russia.

In the decision of the regional court it is noted that the student is studying at the sixth year and she has four months left before the defense of the diploma. In this regard, the expulsion was appointed at the end of June, so that the girl could finish her studies. The defense asked to cancel the ruling, since Nyamarevbu believed that “a single invitation to an event dedicated to African music and dancing, taking place in a building of worship, can not be an offense.”

According to the decision, Nyamarevbu was engaged in activities that do not meet the stated goal in obtaining a visa. Thus, she violated the rules of entry and stay in Russia and committed an offense, “the object of encroachment is the security of the state.” As noted Telegram-channel “Oper writes,” a student apply for a visa for education and not for doing missionary work.

According to the publication of “Nizhny Novgorod online”, it is not about one repost or post, but a series of publications with photos and videos. The press service of the educational institution told the publication that the student called to go to church and shared her experience of visiting. The head of the university’s press service, Aleksei Nikonov, said that last week Nyamarevbu stopped appearing in class and did not answer the dean’s calls.
