Scientists: the use of fish prevents the development of Parkinson’s disease

Specialists of the Technical University Chalmers (Sweden) found that regular consumption of fish helps to avoid the development of Parkinson’s disease. It’s all about the special protein that is found in the meat of many fish. It prevents the development of a serious illness.

Fish and were previously considered useful for health, including cognitive. Now experts were able to establish the exact cause of the positive effect for the body. Parvalbumin is a protein that absorbs alpha-synuclein proteins, which scientists call unique catalysts for the development of Parkinson’s disease.

Parvalbumin also can potentially prevent the development of other neurodegenerative diseases – Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The specialists intend to continue their studies for a more detailed study of the relationship between parvalbumin and the formation of these diseases. Currently, there is no cure for these ailments.
