On the night of April 19, the Ministry of Defense successfully launched the Proton-M rocket with the second military satellite Blagovest from the Baikonur cosmodrome. It is needed to provide high-speed Internet access, data transmission, as well as telephone and video communication.
The launch took place at 1:12 Moscow time. According to the Ministry of Defense, preparations before the start and the start itself were held in normal mode without deviations from the schedule. The upper stage with the satellite was regularly separated from the third stage of the rocket.
The first Blagovest went into orbit on August 17, 2017. The third and fourth devices are planned to be launched before the end of 2018. By 2020, it is planned to deploy a group of four military satellites.
