Japanese official resigned after accusations of harassment of journalist

On Wednesday, a high-ranking Japanese official left his post, accused of sexual harassment.

Junichi Fukuda, who held a high post in the Japanese government, rejects all charges that appeared in the local journal Shukan Shincho. The publication has published an audio record, on which, as it claims, the voice of a politician speaking, in particular: “Can I embrace you?” and “Can I touch your breast?”

According to The New York Times, Mr. Fukuda will be the first high-ranking official since 1998 in the Ministry of Finance, who voluntarily resigned from his post.
