In Belarus, tighten control over the Internet

According to the BBC, from now on, the “network publication” is obliged to become a legal entity with a legal address in the premises of a non-residential fund and an editor with a Belarusian passport and at least five years of seniority in the media.

The new law introduces mandatory identification of persons posting materials or comments on any sites and forums; mandatory moderation; allow the blocking of social networks and the restriction of access to Internet resources out of court.

The media is a very public matter
