Russian users of Telegram began to report the inaccessibility of the messenger. At the same time, the service remains available to those who use VPN-connection or proxy-servers.

Earlier representatives of Roskomnadzor reported that they sent a request to providers to restrict access to Telegram. The head of the department, Alexander Zharov, added that the service will send Apple and Google a request to remove the messenger applications from the Russian version of their virtual stores.

Alexander Zharov said that Roskomnadzor will block the tools that allow access to Telegram, at the request of operational-search authorities.

In total , eight IP-addresses were entered in the register of Roskomnadzor , including those related to the official site of the messenger, its desktop and web-version, the service of short links and alternative addresses of the service.

On April 13 Tagansky District Court of Moscow decided to block access to Telegram on the territory of Russia due to refusal to provide encryption keys. On the same day, Roskomnadzor entered the service addresses in the register of prohibited sites, but did not restrict access right away.
