The network was rumored about the upcoming release of the anniversary processor Intel Core i7-8086K, which will be named in honor of the first 16-bit microprocessor Intel 8086. It is assumed that the anniversary processor will be an accelerated version of the current flagship Core i7-8700K from the family Coffee Lake-S.
According to the leaks, the processor will receive six x86 cores and 12 threads, 12 MB of L3 cache. TDP “stone” will be 95 watts. The processor clock speed is 4 GHz, in the booster – 5.1 GHz, while the similar frequencies of the Core i7-8700K are 3.7 and 4.7 GHz, respectively.
Microprocessor 8086 was introduced on June 8, 1978. That’s why the release of new items is expected in early summer of 2018.
